another day fades,
a hidden horizon line,
a river of tail lights,
fade in the fog-
another red light,
calling my mind away,
adrift on the endless rain,
lost in a song-
I dream of leaving this town,
I can't see the stars anymore,
the neon lie breaks me down,
I can't see the stars anymore-
now that you're not around,
I can't see the stars anymore,
I look for a way,
in moments of weightlessness,
to conjure your voice again,
your face from the crowd-
watching the blades,
wiping the rain away,
imagine my memories,
in every drop-
I dream of leaving this town,
I can't see the stars anymore,
the neon lie breaks me down,
I can't see the stars anymore-
now that you're not around,
I can't see the stars anymore,

Into a dream
04:08
|
|||
I used to hear you,
almost every day,
tell me you're okay-
alone in the silence,
I still linger here,
you're so far away-
no ghost in these faces,
no one looks like you,
so I look right through them-
cling to the traces,
that you left behind,
they all seem closer to you-
into a dream, lay down by your stone-
into a dream, waiting to see you
but I never do-
I go through the motions,
all the color gone,
but I carry on-
my dream's are like oceans,
where you drift away,
in a silent storm-
into a dream, lay down by your stone-
into a dream, waiting to see you
but I never do-

Hang it up
03:12
|
|||
stayed out too long on the edges,
now I feel like I don't belong-
stood out on one too many ledges,
crossing wires you could hang me on-
I was alone with a puzzle,
trying to find a missing piece-
I tried to speak through the muzzle,
learn a language that was new to me-
so many mistakes,
if that's what it takes,
for me to live and learn-
if love is only a word,
I may not have heard,
talking out of turn-
I'd rather hang it up-
this all looks way too familiar,
on a square painted number one-
my cards were lost in the shuffle,
of a round that nobody won-
so many mistakes,
if that's what it takes,
for me to live and learn-
if love is only a word,
I may not have heard,
talking out of turn-
I'd rather hang it up-
so many mistakes,
if that's what it takes,
for me to live and learn-
if love is only a word,
I may not have heard,
talking out of turn-
I'd rather hang it up-

Quicksand hour glass
05:01
|
|||
the wind rolls on across this desert,
the stars hang high above the dunes-
sleeping through the sun, but I can't forget it,
underneath the dark side of the moon-
wandering so long I can't remember,
what drives my bitter steps into the wind-
I try to coax that fire out of my embers,
a lonely flame appears and dies again-
no dream to chase,
I lose my place,
trapped inside this quicksand hourglass-
diamonds fill the sky from where I'm standing,
but my northern star has all but disappeared-
I turn to see my tracks begin to vanish,
erasing every trace that I was here-
no dream to chase,
I lose my place,
trapped inside this quicksand hourglass-
no dream to chase,
I lose my place,
trapped inside this quicksand hourglass-

Can't turn back
05:24
|
|||
still so far away, I can see,
you shimmer in the rising of the heat,
something flashes in the sun,
catching my eye-
I raise my hand, shade my eyes,
squinting at the weight you drag behind,
but you're still days away,
taking your time-
do you carry news from home,
do you come to sell your soul for water,
hounded by the crows,
there's no turning back-
do you know, how far you've come,
have you found your absolution in the sun,
you're closer everyday,
looking less like a ghost-
you appeared, in this place,
soon we will be meeting face to face,
I am your mirage,
that's all you know-
where you come from wasn't real,
did you miss it when the road was ending,
vultures at your heels,
there's no turning back-
hammer sun above the anvil-
pushing on, you don't know why-
you can't turn back-
close enough, I can see,
you no longer shimmer in the heat,
a thousand feet away,
now here we are-
there's an echo in your head,
when I tell you that you're here because you're dead,
I'm here to show the way,
and send you on-
do you carry news from home,
do you come to sell your soul for water,
hounded by the crows,
there's no turning back-
where you come from wasn't real,
did you miss it when the road was ending,
vultures at your heels,
there's no turning back-

Last man on earth
03:25
|
|||
took a wrong turn down a one way street,
It doesn't matter with no one else around-
pile of dirty dishes in the kitchen sink,
I walk away and find another house-
I'm the last man on earth,
I always wanted to be-
the last man on earth,
now it's only me-
never go to work, cuz there aint no bills,
traffic is light, the roads are empty now-
never in a line that's standing still,
no rules to break, no news to bring me down-
I'm the last man on earth,
I always wanted to be-
the last man on earth,
now it's only me-
I'm the last man on earth,
I thought I wanted to be-
the last man on earth,
I don't want to be...missing you-
there's only one thing missing....
missing you....

Stupor man
04:33
|
|||
make his problems tiny,
make the world soft and shiny,
yeah,that's easy-
he could've saved the day,
if not for timing,
he got tangled in his cape-
wouldn't it be lovely,
wouldn't it be grand,
wouldn't it be lovely,
if nothing's broken when he lands-
he's always fine until,
the floor comes up,
and hits him in the light switch-
warm and fuzzy, lovey dovey,
life is sunny there behind those shades-
wouldn't it be lovely,
wouldn't it be grand,
if he didn't spill my wine when he's flying like stupor man-
don't try that at home,
when you're alone,
cause he can tell you're not an hero-
leave it to an amateur,
to do it when there's no one else around-
wouldn't it be lovely,
wouldn't it be grand,
if he didn't spill my wine when he's flying like stupor man-
stupor man, has no plan, to leave his chair-
stupor man, has no plans,.....and doesn't care-
he's always fine until,
the floor comes up,
and hits him in the light switch-
warm and fuzzy, lovey dovey,
life is sunny there behind those shades-
wouldn't it be lovely,
wouldn't it be grand,
if he didn't spill my wine when he's flying like stupor man-

Lose your place
04:33
|
|||
feels like you're running on an empty tank-
one wrong step, and you're walking that plank-
slow motion turning of a useless crank-
going through the motion when it's disconnected-
born with the wheel underneath your feet-
gotta keep the wheel turning for the things you need-
fuel the machinations of the criminal league-
wanna burn it to the ground but you can't stop running-
slow down and it willl overtake you-
fall outta line and you lose your place-
you're a dead pan comic in a over done joke-
waiting for the laugh at the end of your rope-
a ball and chain on a slippery slope-
let it drag you down, or you can just keep running-
slow down and it will overtake you-
fall outta line and you lose your place-
you can run for the money and the diamond hills-
put your dreams in a pipe and you take your fill-
of the second hand lies from the rumor mills-
it's okay to believe it if you don't stop running-
slow down and it will overtake you-
fall outta line and you lose your place-

Storm in a teacup
03:35
|
|||
somebody tell me how it all went south, come on-
a whisper in a circle from a motor mouth, come on-
they're only mountains out of mole hills, honey-
no need to sweat it, you can let it go-
they're making something out of nothing like it's money, come on-
it's a storm in a teacup, baby-
a storm in a teacup, baby-
a storm in a teacup,
don't let it drag you down-
somebody tell me why you're all worked up, come on-
(over clocked mouth like a bell clapper ringing)
they can make an ocean from a drop in the bucket, come on-
(marching to the drama of the drum they're beating)
they're only happy when you're sucked in, honey-
everything is fine until they blow it up-
they're making something out of nothing like it's money, come on-
it's a storm in a teacup, baby-
a storm in a teacup, baby-
a storm in a teacup,
don't let it drag you down-
it's a storm in a teacup, baby-
a storm in a teacup, baby-
a storm in a teacup,
don't let it drag you down-

Looking for your ghost
02:44
|
|||
sun goes down,
I drive around in the rain,
looking for your ghost, looking for your ghost-
everything looks different,
but nothing's changed,
looking for your ghost, looking for your ghost-
you're everywhere and nowhere,
still I go back again, looking for your ghost-
time and time again,
I thought I could find you,
looking for your ghost, looking for your ghost-
I haunt the world you left,
somewhere behind you,
looking for your ghost, looking for your ghost-
you're everywhere and nowhere,
still I go back again, looking for your ghost-
I made my way to the graveyard,
where I saw my name on a stone,
it all made sense, why the town was empty,
I can't go back to a life where I'm a ghost-
I'm everywhere and nowhere,
so you look right through me,
never see my ghost-
I'm everywhere and nowhere,
so you look right through me,
never see my ghost-
